Understanding Health and Wellbeing: Navigating Menopause and Hormonal Health

This course contains 3 previously recorded webinars on Puberty, Period, and Menopause Health and is intended for people with a uterus or those experiencing surgical menopause. You can take whichever topic is of interest, or all the topics, and there is no certificate associated with course completion. Each recorded webinar is under 1 hour long.

1. "Nourishment for Puberty" webinar:

How can I make sure my children eat healthy as they grow? What can I do to help their body image as their body changes? What’s intuitive eating and should my kid be doing it? Body changes in puberty come with lots of questions, especially around food and health!

From growth spurts to mood swings and heightened emotions, how do we ensure we’re giving our kids the best nutrition possible, when they may only want to eat grab-and-go processed foods?

Emily the “Period RD” will break down what parents and caregivers can expect in puberty, common nutrition concerns that arise, and strategies to support their child including intuitive eating and building a healthy body image.

2. "Period Nutrition Power" webinar:

Is that pain normal? Why am I always so bloated? Why don’t I always have a period? Should I be eating differently? Will that even help?

Every woman experiences her period differently, it makes us unique. but sometimes, what we’re told is normal…. isn’t. Join us on a menstrual health adventure to learn about when normal isn’t well…. Normal.

Emily, the “Period RD,” will teach us all about the menstrual cycle and how to nurture our bodies during each phase. She’ll also cover different challenges woman can face regarding their cycle – from polycystic ovary syndrome and insulin resistance to endometriosis and amenorrhea or when you don’t have a period.

3. "Nourishment for Menopause" webinar:

What is menopause? When will it happen to me, or is it already happening? What can I eat that won’t give me hot flashes?

These are the questions we find ourselves asking more regularly as each year passes. As we age, so do our nutritional requirements to help prevent chronic diseases including osteoporosis and heart disease, which become more common after we stop having a regular menstrual cycle.

Join us with Emily Opthof, the “Period RD” and Y Ambassador, for a live webinar to learn all about this stage in life where our bodies are changing…. again!
